The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are excited to announce the signing of forward Duncan Shin (05) for the 2023-2024 season.
Shin, from Chandler, Arizona, played for the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes U18 AAA team last year where he produced 10 points in 10 games. The 6’0″ forward previously played for Shattucks St. Mary U16 AAA where he contributed 55 points (17 goals and 38 assists) during the 2021-22 season.
“We are very excited to welcome Duncan into our forward group for next season. We got to see him at the Circle K Classic during the Christmas break, and he impressed us. He is a bigger body that skates well, has great hockey IQ, brings skill, playmaking, and scoring ability to our forward group. He has good hands in tight around the net and has terrific vision in the offensive zone. He can display that 5 on 5 off the rush or in zone, but really shines on the PP as the net front pop out option. His playmaking ability allows him to see skilled plays that are not always easy plays to make. We think he has tremendous upside and with his frame he can turn into a guy that can not only score but give his teammates an opportunity to put themselves in areas to capitalize. We know he will be a great addition up front for us!” Said Head Coach and General Manager Adam Manah.
The Oil Barons would like to welcome Duncan and his family to the organization.
