The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are excited to announce the signing of defenseman Chad Lebeau (05)
Lebeau suited up in 62 games with the U18 Mount Academy Saints where the 6’2″ left shot defenseman contributed 47 points (11 goals and 36 assists). Lebeau joins Anthony Campbell as the second signing from Mount Academy for the MOB.
“Chad is another player that stood out to us when we saw Mount Academy. Their team was heavily watched and recruited this year. We feel fortunate to be adding a defenseman of Chad’s calibre to our line-up next season. He brings size at 6’2″, 195 lbs. Adding Rodman last year, Nordstrom & Marsden this year, and now Lebeau to our left side we have four defenseman all over 6’2″. The best part is they all can get around the ice well and are very hard to play against. Size isn’t the only thing Chad brings to the table. He has a great skill set, and soft mitts.” Said Head Coach and General Manager Adam Manah. “He sees the ice well, makes a good first pass out of his own end, knows when to activate into the rush, or in the offensive zone to find quiet ice. His 11 goals, 36 assists, totaling 47 points led his team on the back end for offense. We know Chad will be a great fit to our blue line and only make us tougher to play against moving forward. We are excited to welcome him to our D core!”
