FORT McMURRAY, AB — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce the signing of forward Carson Ralph for the 2026-27 Alberta Junior Hockey League season.
A player with strong ties to Fort McMurray, the 2009 born forward spent the 2025-26 season with the St. Albert Raiders U18 AAA program, where he recorded 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) in 30 games. Ralph also gained valuable experience at the major junior level, appearing in four games with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings and recording his first WHL point.
“Carson is a strong two-way centreman whose puck protection and heavy style of play make him a difficult player to defend against,” said Oil Barons Assistant General Manager Jesse Mattson. “He has the ability to create offense, whether it’s making plays for his teammates or finishing chances himself, while also being reliable in all three zones. We believe his versatility and competitiveness will make him a valuable addition to our lineup.”
Ralph’s combination of offensive production at the U18 AAA level and exposure to the WHL has provided him with a strong foundation as he continues his development. His ability to contribute in all areas of the game, combined with his competitiveness and work ethic, makes him an exciting addition to the Oil Barons lineup.
