FORT McMURRAY, AB — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce the signing of forward Aedan McCarry for the 2026-27 Alberta Junior Hockey League season.
The 2009 born forward from Calgary, Alberta joins the Oil Barons following a strong season with Calgary IHA U18 Prep in the CSSHL. McCarry recorded 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists) in 30 games, establishing himself as a consistent offensive contributor.
McCarry also gained valuable experience at the junior level during the 2025-26 season, making his AJHL debut with the Oil Barons.
“Aedan combines high-end skill with a relentless compete level and plays the game with passion and intensity,” said Oil Barons Assistant General Manager Jesse Mattson. “His ability to score, create opportunities, and impact the game in all three zones makes him an outstanding all-around player. We’re thrilled to welcome him to our organization and believe he will be an important part of our team’s success moving forward.”
