FORT McMURRAY, AB — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Aiden Across The Mountain for the 2026-27 Alberta Junior Hockey League season.
The 2008 born blueliner from Lethbridge, Alberta joins the Oil Barons following a strong season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes U18 AAA program in the Alberta Elite Hockey League. Across The Mountain recorded 20 points (5 goals, 15 assists) in 38 games while establishing himself as a dependable two-way defenceman capable of contributing at both ends of the ice.
“Aiden is an excellent skater who uses his mobility to his advantage, whether activating into the rush or joining the play offensively when the opportunity presents itself,” said Oil Barons Assistant General Manager Jesse Mattson. “At the same time, he remains responsible and committed defensively, and is capable of matching up against and shutting down top opponents. His competitiveness and willingness to engage in all areas of the ice are qualities that stand out, and we believe he has the tools to be a strong two-way presence on our blue line. We’re pleased to welcome him to the group.”
