Story Coming In:
A couple lackluster performances saw the Oil Barons drop out of a playoff spot. Wednesday’s game in Lloydminster saw the Bobcats jump out to a 4-0 lead, en route to a 6-2 victory. Saturday the MOB only managed 15 shots on goal and they fell 2-1 at the hands of Lloydminster. Fort McMurray has played in 10 one goal games so far this season, however, they have posted a record of 3-6-1 in those games. Where Fort McMurray has success is when they score four or more goals. In four games where they’ve done this, the Oil Barons are 3-1. This road trip will be difficult for the MOB as they play four South Division teams in five days. In seven games against South Division teams, the blue and gold posted a record of 1-5-1 with their lone victory against the Olds Grizzlys.
View From Canmore & Calgary:
The Eagles stumbled at the end of three games in three days over the weekend. After an overtime loss to Bonnyville on Saturday, Canmore suffered their worst loss of the season, a 5-0 shutout to Camrose. Zach Coutu continues to be the spark up front for the Bow Valley Boys. The second year forward has 20 points this season, good for 3rd in the league. Canmore also have found themselves in 11 one goal games this year, posting a record of 8-1-2 in those contests. Offence is the name of the game for the Canucks. Calgary boasts the top offence in the league, averaging 4.31 goals a game. Veteran forward Jack Plandowski leads the league in points with 24. Nolan DuPont also leads all rookies in points with 18. The Canucks are missing the services of their captain, Bowden Singleton, who has been out with injury since October 20th, but the Centennial Cup hosts still contain several weapons that makes them dangerous any given night.
