Oil Barons Acquire Forward Chad Muller

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have acquired 03 forward Chad Muller from the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL in exchange for future considerations.

“We are extremely excited to be bringing in a player like Chad. He is a player that is the perfect fit for the North Division and our league. He brings speed, skill, scoring touch around the net, a high IQ, and most importantly a throwback element that we need more of within our forward group right now. That element being that he plays like a truck out there, isn’t shy to be physical by finishing his checks, and scares guys out there. He is determined to win every puck battle on the ice. His effort and compete level really stood out to us when we watched him. Simply put, he is a power forward type of guy that we feel can contribute on the scoresheet and play the right way. Chad is a player that brings so much value to our hockey team and we are thrilled to see what he can do in MOB colors. We think he will be an instant fan favorite with the style of play he brings to the game.” Said Head Coach and General Manager Adam Manah.

Muller, the 6’1” 190lbs forward, has suited up in 45 regular season games over this year and the 21-22 season with the Chiefs where he has contributed 14 points (7 goals and 7 assists). Muller is originally from Kingston Ontario and is the nephew of Kirk Muller, former captain of the New Jersey Devils and Montreal Canadiens who played 19 seasons in the NHL.

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons would like to welcome Chad to the organization.
