The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are proud to announce that Danny Akkouche has committed to Nipissing University. The Nipissing Lakers compete in U Sports and are located in North Bay, Ontario.
Akkouche Captained the Oil Barons and led the team in goals (19) assists (30) and points (49) playing in his first season with the team after playing with Gatineau of the QMJHL in the previous year. Akkouche made an instant impact and suited up in all 54 games for the club leading the MOB to a playoff berth with his consistent production throughout the season. The Oil Barons forward was recently named to the AJHL North Division All-League team after finishing 4th in points in the Division.
