Oil Barons Trade Dattani to Spruce Grove

Fort McMurray, Alta. (Jan. 6, 2016) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have traded 1995-born goaltender Ravi Dattani (Calgary, Alta.) to the Spruce Grove Saints for future considerations.

Dattani, 20, joined the Oil Barons this season following a June 19, 2015 trade with the Calgary Mustangs. In 31 games with the Oil Barons this season, Dattani has recorded a 3.73 GAA and .900 save percentage. Prior to joining the Oil Barons, Dattani appeared in 142 games with the Mustangs over three seasons, where he averaged a 3.46 GAA and .901 save percentage.

“As an organization, we believe this trade provides Ravi with the opportunity to play with one of the league’s top teams as a 20-year-old and postions our team well for the future,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “Ravi is also a tremendous person both on and off the ice. We thank him for his dedication this season and wish him the best in Spruce Grove.”
