Story Coming In:
Fort McMurray looks to bounce back as they hit the road. After a 6-2 loss at the hands of Bonnyville, the Oil Barons face an opponent they’ve had plenty of success against, as they look for their first season series sweep of the season. Carter Schmidt continues his hot form on offense. The 19-year-old leads the team in points, putting up eight in his last four games, while also claiming Player of the Week in the AJHL. Other players on a roll includes Simon Gaul and Ryan Arnold, who are both on four game point streaks. Meanwhile, Gage Stewart has put up a save percentage of .920 or better in each of the last three games he’s played in.
View From Drumheller:
Since dropping a pair of games at Centerfire Place last weekend, the Dragons won two in a row. Jacob Goudreau has three points over those two games, while Connor Poffenroth had a four point afternoon on Sunday against Bonnyville. Jameson Kaine also had a pair of excellent performances in the wins. The victories were huge for Drumheller in the standings as well, as they sit in fourth overall, two points back of second and four points back of first.
