Fort McMurray, AB (Oct. 29, 2016) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired 1996-born forward Toby Shattler (Fort McMurray, AB) from the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for future considerations.
Shattler re-joins former teammate Brandon Ralph, as the two played Bantam AA in Fort McMurray and in Fort Saskatchewan with the Midget AAA Rangers. In 163 junior games over three seasons with the Ice Wolves and Grande Prairie Storm, Shattler has recorded 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists) and 312 penalty minutes.
“Toby’s a team first player that brings a bit of sandpaper and grit to our team,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “We’re excited to welcome him home to Fort McMurray and believe he’s going to have a positive impact on our team, both on and off the ice.”
