Leeseberg signs with MOB

Fort McMurray, AB (June 16, 2016) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 1998-born forward Nicholas Leeseberg (Parker, CO) has committed to play for the team for the 2016-17 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season.

Leeseberg, 18, spent last season with the Connecticut Wolf Pack U18 Midget team in Cheshire, CT. In 64 games with the Wolfpack last season, the 6'2″, 174 pound forward registered 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists) and 46 penalty minutes.

“Nicholas brings a lot of size and speed to our team,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “He's a very versatile player and has the ability to play in a variety of game situations. As an organization, we're excited to welcome him north to our hockey club in Fort McMurray.”

Last week, the MOB announced that 1998-born forward Liam Izyk (Blackie, AB) has also committed to play for the team for the 2016-17 season. With the addition of Leeseberg and Izyk, the MOB have welcomed a total of seven new faces since late May, including the completion of a pair of trades made with the Spruce Grove Saints and Brooks Bandits last season.
