FORT McMURRAY, AB (November 9, 2014) — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons would like to thank the staff at the Thickwood Pizza 73 for being gracious hosts and pizza-making instructors as four players came by for the chain's annual Slices for Smiles fundraiser on Sunday.

Brett McNeil, Adam Durkee, Mark Drohan, and Jordan Xavier all received a crash course in baking a pizza, and helped local staff distribute free Oil Barons tickets, as well as signing autographs for fans who stopped in.
The Slices for Smiles fundraiser benefits Children's Miracle Network and its member hospitals in Canada, including Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Until November 16th, Pizza 73 restaurants across Western Canada are offering a special 9″ pizza topped with a pepperoni smile for only $4.99. A portion of the proceeds from each smile pizza will be donated to Children's Miracle Network. Customers can also participate in the fundraiser by topping off their purchases with a donation.
