Fort McMurray, Alta. (Apr. 8, 2016) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce that 1999-born defenceman Marcus Kichton (Spruce Grove, Alta.) has signed with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Kichton, 17, appeared in 55 games with the Oil Barons last season, recording five assists and 42 penalty minutes.
“As an organization, we’re always looking to develop players and help them move on to the next level whether that’s major junior, collegiate, or university hockey,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “As a 16-year-old, Marcus showed a lot of poise on our blue line last season and played in a number of key situations for us. We’re excited for him and wish him the best in Vancouver with the Giants.”
