The rookie defender scored three goals against the Storm, including a game winner. Jaggar John also had an excellent weekend, pushing his point streak to three games, while adding a game winning goal to his tally. Now the MOB get set for their first game in 12 days. Since they last played, they were listed in the CJHL Top 20 Rankings as an Honorable Mention. It’s the first time since February 21st, 2022 that the Oil Barons were in those rankings.
View From Whitecourt:
The Wolverines are the top ranked team in the AJHL, although this past weekend was a little rocky. After a convincing win over the Calgary Canucks, Whitecourt dropped a 3-1 decision to the Olds Grizzlys. However, Shawn Martin’s group did right the ship with a 3-1 win over Lloydminster on Tuesday. Whitecourt has been terrific at both sides of the ice, sporting both the number one offence and defence. Four Wolverines are in the league’s top ten in points, including captain Jalen Bianchet who is number one in goals scored with 16. Whitecourt has also seen the emergence of rookie goalie Luke McKechnie. The Lumsden, Saskatchewan product leads all goalies in wins, goals against average, while sporting the second best save percentage.
