Oil Barons acquire Funk from BCHL?s Surrey Eagles

Fort McMurray, Alta. (Sept. 23, 2015) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired 1997-born forward Jordan Funk (Surrey, B.C.) from the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for future considerations.

Last season, Funk split time between the Eagles and the Aldergrove Kodiaks of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL). In 32 games with the Kodiaks, Funk recorded 40 points (22 goals, 18 assists), adding 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 26 games with the Eagles.

“At 6’1”, Jordan is a player that has size, but also the ability to score,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “He’s also a great skater, which is vital to compete at a high level in our league. We're confident that his style of play will fit well with our systems and compliment our forward lines.”
