Drohan recalled to Tri City

FORT McMURRAY, AB (January 5, 2015) – Fort McMurray Oil Barons defenceman Mark Drohan (Calgary, AB) has been recalled to the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the team announced today.

Drohan, 16, is in his first year of junior hockey, and has played in 35 games this season, tallying 5 goals and 6 assists. Drohan is tied for second on the team in power play goals with 4. Prior to this season, the 6’2”, 180lb rearguard played for the Calgary Buffaloes of the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League (AMHL).

Drohan signed a WHL Players Contract with the Americans, who are based in Kennewick, Washington, on August 27th of last year.

He is expected to be with the Americans for the team’s games in Prince George, B.C., against the Cougars on Tuesday and Wednesday, before returning to Fort McMurray on Thursday in time for the team’s home games this coming weekend.
