Connect: Lalor caps off rookie season with award nomination

The following column appears in this week's edition of Fort McMurray Connect:

Barons fans have been treated to a real rookie sensation this season; the kind they haven’t seen in several years.

17-year old Luc Lalor, an underage, undersized forward who could still be playing minor hockey right now, has made an immediate impact in the AJHL, with one of the most productive years for a 17-year old MOB forward since Oilers draft pick Matt Glasser.

He’s scored 30 points, leads the team in scoring, and, despite having been injured for several weeks, continues to maintain that scoring lead.

To cap it all off, he’s now one of only four nominees for AJHL Rookie of the Year.
