The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old defenceman Kris Steedsman (Fort McMurray, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Portage College Voyageurs in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.
Kris just completed his junior career posting 5 goals and 19 assists in 47 games during the 2009-2010 season. His strong leadership and unwavering character were instrumental in Fort McMurray's successful playoff run this year. Kris was a very versatile defencemen that played in all situations and was counted on heavily to play against other teams' top lines.
The Oil Barons organization would like to congratulate Kris and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
Kris becomes the 6th Oil Baron from last year to secure a commitment from a post-secondary institution.
