Fort McMurray, AB (October 7, 2021) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are excited to be back at Centerfire Place this weekend for a pair of games against the Lloydminster Bobcats on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30pm.
In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation and in honour of the lost children and survivors of residential schools, the Oil Barons are bringing back a long-standing tradition to support community programs and will be hosting a jersey auction on October 8 and 9. In partnership with Centerfire, the players will be wearing the commemorative orange jerseys with proceeds going to local indigenous charities.
Bidding will start on Friday night and will continue through to Saturday’s game until the end of the 2nd intermission.
Each jersey will have a minimum bid start of $200 with $5 increments.
Only in person bids will be accepted during the scheduled games, no phone call bidding will be accepted. If you are not able to attend, a designated person in attendance may bid on your behalf.
Payment for successful auction winners will be required upon completion of the auction after the 2nd intermission on Saturday night.
Jerseys will be available for pick up starting on Tuesday, October 12.
Please join us in a pregame celebration, presented by War Cry drumming group to kick start the 2021/2022 season. Following the ceremonial song, a cheque presentation will be made by Centerfire to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in recognition of the naming rights for the arena.
