Oil Barons to wear camo on November 11 and 12

Fort McMurray, AB (November 7, 2016) – On Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12, the Fort McMurray Oil Barons will wear military camouflage jerseys, to honour those that have served and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.

During both games at the Casman Centre, the Oil Barons will auction each game-worn jersey, with all proceeds going to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 165 in Fort McMurray.

“We’re proud to honour the men and women that have served our country in military operations at home and around the world,” said Oil Barons and Northern Alberta Athletic Association (NAAA) President David Fitzgerald. “This is our way of thanking our troops and veterans, for helping protect our rights and freedoms as Canadians.”

Bidding will open before puck drop on Friday against the Drumheller Dragons. Bids will be accepted until the end of the 2nd intermission of Saturday’s game against the Drayton Valley Thunder. Bids can be placed by visiting the Casman Centre or by calling the Casman Centre box office at (780) 743 – 5509, extension 0.

Tickets to both games can be purchased online, or by visting or calling the Casman Centre box office.
