Fort McMurray, AB (September 10, 2018) – Hockey season is back Fort McMurray! To help kickoff a new AJHL season, the Oil Barons are inviting you to stop by the Casman Centre on September 14 and 15 when the Grande Prairie Storm pay a visit.
The Oil Barons have a number of opening night festivities planned for September 14, including:
- a pre-game tail gate party including a BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting, and live entertainment at 5:30 p.m. (sponsored by Rogers Radio Fort McMurray and Sobey’s Thickwood),
- opening ceremonies featuring special effects, videos, introductions, and a ceremonial puck drop before the game at 7:15 p.m. (puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.), and
- a pre-game ceremony to honour the Humboldt Broncos.
“Every year, we strive to create a fantastic opening night celebration featuring special effects and introductions for our loyal fans,” said Oil Barons President David Fitzgerald. “The players really feed off the excitement and buzz around town and in the building on opening night, so we encourage everyone to pack the Casman, get loud, and help them get off to a good start against the Storm.”
