Oil Barons Sign Forward Zayden Sadlemyer

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are excited to announce the signing of Zayden Sadlemyer for the 2023-2024 season.

Sadlemyer, originally from Buena Vista, SK is a 2005 born forward. He spent last season with the U18 AAA Regina Pat Canadiens where he contributed 32 points (13 goals and 19 assists) in 30 games.

“Zayden is a player that stood out to us since the beginning of the season. We were able to watch him in Saskatchewan, and then again further at the Circle K Classic during the Christmas break. He is very highly spoken of by his coaches, teammates, and is a team first guy. He was an Assistant Captain for the Regina Pat Canadians this year and led by example by playing a 200 ft game and being responsible on both sides of the puck. He is a bigger body that resembles a power type forward who protects pucks well down low in the offensive zone, coming out of the corners, or off the half wall. He has a knack for scoring goals in different ways, whether that being at the blue paint, in the slot area, or from long range.” Said Head Coach and General Manager Adam Manah. “On top of that you know he will give you his ‘A’ game every night based on consistency, effort, and hard work. He was over a point per game with 32 including 13 goals and 19 helpers. We feel he will wear the MOB logo with a lot of pride and heart every day he is at the rink. We are excited to be adding him to our forward group!”

The Oil Barons would like to welcome Zayden and his family to the organization.
