Fort McMurray, AB (May 15, 2020) ? The Oil Barons are excited to announce that 2002-born forward Joshua Russell (Miramichi, NB) has signed a letter of intent for the 2020-21 AJHL season.
?I?ve heard nothing but the best about Fort McMurray and its fans,? said Russell. ?Being from the east coast, it?ll be fun to play in front of other east coasters that now call Fort McMurray home.?
Russell noted that he plays a tough and physical style of game, adding that his time at the Ontario Hockey Academy (OHA) has prepared him for the transition to Junior A. In 27 games with OHA?s U18 team last season, he recorded 33 points (19 goals, 14 assists).
