FORT McMURRAY, AB (December 9, 2014) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League have recalled affiliate forwards Kole Gable (Fort McMurray, AB) and Cole Davis (Calgary, AB) to play in tomorrow night’s home game against the first-place Spruce Grove Saints.
Gable, 16, who currently plays for the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League (AMHL), will be playing his second game in his hometown team’s uniform, after making his MOB debut on October 31st in a game against Spruce Grove.
The 5’10”, 170lb forward is the eighth-highest scoring player in the AMHL so far this season, with 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 20 games played, and is Fort Saskatchewan’s highest scoring player.
Davis, 17, is a 6’1”, 205lb forward who currently plays for the Midget AAA Calgary Flames of the AMHL; he made his Oil Barons debut on Sunday afternoon in the team’s 3-1 win over the Calgary Canucks at the Max Bell Centre.
Tomorrow’s game is the final meeting between the archrival Oil Barons and Saints at the Casman Centre in this regular season; the last game between the two was a thrilling 4-3 come-from-behind shootout win for the Oil Barons in Spruce Grove on November 15th.
