Oil Barons Re-acquire Lileikis from Wolverines

Fort McMurray, Alta. (Dec. 1, 2015) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have re-acquired 1995-born defenceman Taylor Lileikis (Calgary, Alta.) from the Whitecourt Wolverines for 1997-born defenceman Josh Bishop (Strathmore, Alta.) and future considerations.

Lileikis, 20, joined the Oil Barons prior to the 2013-14 season, where he registered four assists in 52 games. Last season, Lileikis split time between the Oil Barons and Calgary Mustangs, where he registered eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 44 games. In 21 games with the Mustangs and Wolverines this season, Lileikis has registered five assists.

“We were foruntate to have Taylor as an 18 year-old a couple of years ago,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “Taylor brings a lot of size and experience to our team and we’re excited to welcome him back to Fort McMurray.”

Bishop, 18, spent the past three seasons with the Strathmore Midget AAA Bisons, where recorded 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 66 games. Bishop also helped the Bisons capture the Alberta Midget Hockey League (AMHL) title last season. In 26 games with the Oil Barons this season, Bishop has recorded one assist.

“Josh is a tremendous kid on and off the ice,” said Keca. “He has a bright future ahead of him and we wish him the best in Whitecourt and in his future hockey endeavours.”
