Fort McMurray, Alta. (June 30, 2015) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to introduce Jordan Fitzgerald as the team’s new Director of Communications. As Director of Communications, Jordan will be responsible for coordinating all media relations, social media, and written correspondence on behalf of the Oil Barons.
“Growing up in Fort McMurray and watching the Oil Barons is one of my favourite childhood memories,” said Fitzgerald. “The opportunity to work on behalf of the Oil Barons has always been a dream of mine.”
After graduating high school in Fort McMurray, Jordan moved to Calgary to pursue a Bachelor of Communications Degree at Mount Royal University. In addition to his role with the Oil Barons, Jordan works as a communications professional in Alberta’s oil and gas industry.
“I will never forget when the Oil Barons won the Royal Bank Cup on home ice in 2000,” added Fitzgerald. “I look forward to supporting the Oil Barons this season, in persuit of a second national title.”
“Given his professionalism and experience, we believe that Jordan is the right person to assist with our communications this season,” said Northern Alberta Athletic Association and Oil Barons Vice President Dave Britt.
“He’s a young guy that understands our community and organization. We look forward to working with Jordan to prepare for the upcoming season.”
