The Red Deer, AB, native is a two time recipient of the CCM Top Team Goaltenders Annual Award (given to the goaltenders of the team that gave up the fewest goals against) winning during the 2011-12 and 2013-14 regular seasons. In 2013-14 Jaillet posted a 2.01 GAA and .933 SV% making himself a league finalist for MVP and also winning Top Goaltender in the AJHL. This spectacular season also ended with Jaillet winning CJHL Goaltender of the Year Award recognizing him as the top netminder in Junior A across Canada.

“We are thrilled to be adding Tanner as our goalie coach. He will strengthen our coaching staff with his knowledge, his pedigree, and playing experience in the NCAA and pro ranks. He had a terrific playing career in Fort McMurray followed by playing his college hockey at the University of Denver.” Said Head Coach and General Manager Adam Manah. “We could sense that he was ecstatic about joining our coaching staff and wanting to be a part of what we are building in the Mac. He has a tremendous amount of pride for the logo being a former MOB alum and wants to continue the winning tradition along with developing our goalies to the next level. His character, attention to detail, and passion will make it a fantastic fit for the staff and organization.”

Following his career with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, Jaillet spent the next 4 years of his career at the University of Denver. In 2016-17 Jaillet back-stopped the program to a National Championship after going 28-5-4 with a 1.84 GAA and .929 SV% winning the Mike Richter Award as the most outstanding goalie in Division 1 NCAA Men’s Hockey during the regular season.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge. Being familiar with the organization makes this a great fit and I’m excited to get back to work!” Stated Tanner Jaillet.

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons would like to welcome Tanner and his family back to the organization.
