Oil Barons Hire Jonathan Lambert as Director – Business & Community Engagement

Fort McMurray, AB — January 19, 2026 — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce the hiring of Jonathan Lambert as Director – Business & Community Engagement.

Lambert brings a robust portfolio of leadership experience across collegiate athletics, education, tourism, and community sport development in Fort McMurray. He previously served as Director of Athletics and Recreation for Keyano College, where he strengthened programming, community partnerships, and student-athlete development across multiple varsity sports.

An experienced Athletic Director with a demonstrated history in higher education, Lambert is skilled in K-12 Education, Coaching, Athletic Training, Community Engagement, and Educational Leadership. Academically, he holds a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Throughout his career, Lambert has held several notable leadership roles in the Fort McMurray community, including serving as Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher for the Fort McMurray Public School District. He has also contributed significantly to the region’s sport and tourism landscape as Chair of Fort McMurray Sport Tourism and as Board Chair of the Fort McMurray Tourism Association. Additionally, Lambert served as a School Board Trustee for the Fort McMurray Public School District and was appointed National Men’s Basketball Convenor for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.
