The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have hired Adam Manah to become Head Coach and General Manager of the organization.
Adam Manah most recently spent 6 years with the Sherwood Park Crusaders organization where he spent 5 years as Head Coach and Assistant GM and 1 year as Head Coach and GM. As Head Coach, Manah led the team to a 168-104-11 record (.684 W%). Under Manah, the Crusaders seen over thirty-five player commitments to NCAA Division 1 programs over his tenure.
“I’ve always viewed the Oil Barons as a premier Junior A organization and I’m extremely excited to be back in Fort McMurray and re-join the community where I spent majority of my AJHL playing career. I look forward to coming in and helping continue the success the team has had so far this season” said Manah.
The Oil Barons alum spent three seasons as a player from 2005-2008 in Fort McMurray winning an AJHL championship with the organization in 2006.
“In my conversations with Adam, it became evident early on that he would be a great fit for our culture and compliment our current staff and organization perfectly. As an Oil Barons alum, he will fit right into our community in Fort McMurray and be a great asset to our players and the entire organization.” and said President, David Fitzgerald.
The Oil Barons currently lead the Viterra AJHL North Division with a 26-6 record (52 PTS). The team will be back in action and looking to extend their three-game winning streak Friday night at 7:30pm when they take on the Olds Grizzlies at CenterFire Place.
