Story Coming In:
With points in three straight games, Fort McMurray continues to try to buffer themselves from Bonnyville for the final playoff spot in the North Division. Saturday saw the Oil Barons offence come to life scoring a season high seven goals against the Camrose Kodiaks. Charles-Olivier Villeneuve has points in five straight games including multi-goal nights in three of those contests. The power-play is also starting to come to life having scored in three straight games. Looking to snap a personal four game losing streak against the Pontiacs, this midweek showdown could prove crucial in the playoff race.
View From Bonnyville:
Coming off a massive win over the Grande Prairie Storm at home, the Pontiacs have confidence as they travel to Centerfire Place. Cody Butikis was the star of Saturday’s game making 43 saves in the victory, while Myles Gauld had a pair of goals and an assist. Kailus Green snapped an 11 game goalless drought on Saturday as well. His production is key to Bonnyville’s success. The Yaks have a busy schedule in December with 7 games in 13 days, including five at home. With five games in hand on the Oil Barons, Bonnyville hopes they can close the gap and make it an entertaining race for a playoff spot in the north.
