Oil Barons Game Preview (Oct. 30 vs Bobcats)

Story Coming In:

Fort McMurray has gone 1-1 so far on their three game road trip. Both games were decided by a single goal, something that has happened nine times to the MOB. Ryan Arnold scored in both games in his Oil Barons return, while Charles-Olivier Villeneuve paced the offence with four points, and Danny Akkouche contributed with three. Four of Fort McMurray’s six wins this season have been against the Bobcats. Leo Adams leads all Oil Barons in points in the season series with six, while Carter Schmidt tallied four goals in the first two games. The MOB has also received excellent goaltending from Vincent Filion, who has played in every game against the Bobcats and is averaging less than two goals a game against the Bobcats.

View From Lloydminster:

Ever since opening the season with eight straight losses, the Bobcats have gone 5-3-0 to launch themselves into the thick of the playoff race. Goaltending and defence continue to be Lloydminster’s strength, averaging the fourth fewest goals against. The Bobcats have yet to beat the Oil Barons this year. In the season series, the Border City Bunch only managed to score seven goals in four games, while they have given up 17 markers. Teague McAllister leads all Bobcats in points against Fort McMurray with four, while Luke Fritz has scored twice in the series. One notable statistic is the lack of power-play goals for Lloydminster, as they have only managed one against the Oil Barons.
