Story Coming In:
The Oil Barons gave themselves a shot of confidence with a come from behind 3-2 win over Devon on Saturday. During a stretch of adversity, Fort McMurray earned their first win when trailing after two periods and their first win against the Xtreme. Ryan Arnold and Justin Dumais continue to lead the offence. Both are tied for fourth in the AJHL with 29 points, Arnold is on a nine game point streak, Dumais has points in four straight. Brendan Gee has also shown he could be the answer in goal for the MOB. During his first six games, Gee has posted a game save percentage of .900 or higher in all but one contest. Fort McMurray gets set to play six of their next seven games at Centerfire Place with the first four against North Division foes. This could be a massive point of the season for the MOB if they want to be seen as one of the contenders for a league title.
View From Lloydminster:
The Bobcats had some extra time to prepare for the MOB, as they haven’t played since November 16th. That weekend, the Bobcats dropped back to back games and now find themselves in a tie for second in the North. What carries Lloydminster is their defence. The Border City Bunch are one of two teams who average less than three goals per game against. They are also enjoying a breakout season by Calgary product Jadon Iyogun. The veteran forward has the longest active point streak (10 games) while leading his team in that category as well. Rookie Tucker Robertson has also been a revelation for the Bobcats. The West Kelowna native is a shade under a point a game and adds some much needed depth. WIth seven of their next eight games on the road, this is a big set for Lloydminster.
