Oil Barons Game Preview (Mon 10th & Tue 11th)

Story Coming In:

A pair of losses over the weekend saw the Oil Barons road losing streak stretch to nine games. Fort McMurray were beaten by Grande Prairie 5-1 and 6-2. Justin Dumais had a pair of powerplay goals over the weekend, Nolan Eastwood also found the back of the net, while Vincent Filion was in goal for both losses. Despite little success on the ice, the MOB got help and clinched a playoff berth, thanks to a Bonnyville loss to Drumheller on Sunday. This marks a return to the postseason for the Oil Barons, after missing the playoffs last year. They will match up against the first place Whitecourt Wolverines.

View From Devon & Camrose:

Since falling 4-1 to Fort McMurray on February 28th, the Xtreme saw their losing skid stretch to four games. In their final home game of the season, Devon looks to send their fans away on a high note, as players continue to audition for roster spots next season. Despite seeing his five game point streak come to an end on Saturday, rookie Levy Kozma continues to impress, leading his team in points. Former Oil Baron Jason Huang also has been finding his groove with a new team, putting up points in six of his last nine games. The Kodiaks are going through a tough stretch of their schedule. Having won one of their last four games, Camrose is clinging to third place in the South Division by a single point over Drumheller. One issue has been the absence of leading scorer Sam Lozinski. The Calgary product has only played once since January 25th, a stretch which saw the Kodiaks go 7-6-2. One other concern for Camrose are shots against, as they have given up 143 shots over their last three for an average of 47.7 per game.
