Story Coming In:
Fort McMurray was able to push their winning streak to three games, before falling on Saturday 3-2 versus Camrose. Ryan Arnold continues to be on a tear, now carrying a 16 game point streak, while Brendan Gee picked up another win. Arnold also tallied his 150th career point on Saturday. Now the Oil Barons hit the road for the final week before the Christmas break. The MOB are 6-3-3 against the South division so far this year. Last time they went on a Southern road trip, the Oil Barons went 2-1-1. With Fort McMurray sitting four points above the playoff line and having played more games than anyone else in the North Division, every point is crucial for the blue and gold.
View From Calgary & Canmore:
The Canucks have been red hot at the Ken Bracko Arena. Winners of six straight at home, Calgary boasts a terrific home record 11-2-0. The defending national champs are currently in a battle for top spot in the South. Trailing the Camrose Kodiaks by a single point, Calgary has three games in hand and looks to take advantage of them before the Christmas break. The Canucks are led by one of the most lethal goal scorers in the AJHL. Harper Lolacher has 24 tallies on the year, second most of anyone in the league. The Canmore Eagles continue to have an up and down campaign. Fresh off a loss against Devon on Saturday, the Eagles are sitting in fourth in the South. However, reinforcements are on the way for the Bow Valley Bunch. They recently returned Cohen Daoust from the Calgary Hitmen. Also returning are Hudson Landmark and Will Lutic, after getting silver medals at the Junior A World Challenge.
