Fort McMurray, AB — January 9, 2026 — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have acquired the rights to defenceman Jayden Lazare.
Lazare, a 2007-born defenceman, joins the organization after spending the year with the Newfoundland Regiment (QMJHL). The blue-liner brings 52 games of QMJHL experience across the past two seasons.
“Jayden uses his skating and quick decision making to move the puck with pace. He plays with an edge and brings offensive upside to our blue line. We’re thrilled to add him to our D core.” Said Head Coach and General Manager Sam Klassen.
The Oil Barons would like to officially welcome Jayden to Fort McMurray and the Oil Barons organization.
