Fort McMurray, AB (November 23, 2016) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons added depth in net on Wednesday, acquiring 1997-born goaltender Josh Williams (Calgary, AB) from the MJHL’s Winkler Flyers for future considerations.

Williams, 19, opened the 2016-17 campaign with the Bonnyville Pontiacs where he recorded a 5-0 record, 0.921 save percentage and 2.62 goals against average in five games. In six games with the Flyers this season, Williams registered a 3-3 record, 0.904 save percentage and 2.68 goals against average.

“Josh is a proven Junior A goalie, having played with Bonnyville over the past two seasons,” said Oil Barons Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “Josh provides us with some depth in net. We look forward to welcoming him back to Alberta and to our hockey club.”
