Oil Barons Acquire Shawn Eliav from Winnipeg Blues

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have acquired defenseman Shawn Eliav (04) from the Winnipeg Blues (MJHL) in exchange for a player development fee.

Eliav, originally from Boca Raton, Florida, was the leading scorer with 11 points (4 goals and 7 assists) in 20 games for the Blues from the back-end this season. Prior to joining Winnipeg, Eliav played for the Potomac Patriots (USPHL Premier) last season, where in 30 games he contributed 30 points (14 goals and 16 assists).

“Shawn is an offensive minded d-man who will help us transition the puck up the ice. We know his offensive instincts will benefit our powerplay and add more depth to our blue line.” Said General Manager Joey Bouchard. “Shawn will also bring leadership to our locker room as he wore the “C” for the Blues this season.”

The Oil Barons would like to welcome Shawn and his family to the organization!
