Fort McMurray, AB (July 17, 2019) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are excited to announce the acquisition of 1999-born Max and Alec Johnson (Maple Grove, MN) from the Hearst Lumberjacks of the NOJHL. In exchange, the Oil Barons have sent future considerations to Hearst.
The Johnson twins have spent the past two seasons with the Lumberjacks and were key contributors to Hearst?s NOJHL championship last season.
In 33 games as a forward, Max registered 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) last season, while adding another 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 18 playoff games.
As a defenceman, Alec also appeared in 33 games with the Lumberjacks and recorded 43 points (12 goals, 31 assists) last season, while adding another six points (two goals, four assists) in 11 playoff games.
