Fort McMurray, AB (June 1, 2020) ? The Oil Barons are excited to announce the addition of four players to complete trades made last season.
To complete a January 6, 2020 trade with the Drumheller Dragons, the Oil Barons have acquired 2002-born forward Nickolas De Beurs (Cochrane, AB). Known as a solid two-way player, De Beurs recorded 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 41 games with the Dragons last season.
To complete a November 30, 2019 trade with the Drayton Valley Thunder, the Oil Barons have acquired 2002-born forward Brendan Kuny (Ardrossan, AB). Known as a big-body forward with WHL experience, Kuny recorded 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 26 games with the Thunder last season.
To complete a January 8, 2020 trade with the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL, the Oil Barons are excited to announce the additions of 2001-born forward Hassan Akl (Chestermere, AB) and 2002-born defenceman Jordan Hendry (Surrey, BC).
Known as a speedy forward, Akl returns to the AJHL after spending parts of last season with the Drumheller Dragons and Calgary Canucks. In 45 games between the AJHL and BCHL last season, Akl recorded 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists).
Hendry joins the Oil Barons after spending last season in the BCHL. Known as a defensive-minded defenseman, Hendry recorded three assists in 34 games.
