Oil Barons Acquire Chris Kobelka

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have traded the CJHL playing rights of defenceman Kabore Dunn to the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL in exchange for defenceman Chris Kobelka and Future Considerations.

Kabore Dunn played one season (2019-2020) with the MOB and has spent the previous two years with the University of Maine.

Chris Kobelka, the 2003 born defenceman has played 20 games this season with Trail where he has tallied 4 points (1 goal and 3 assists). Prior to his time in the BCHL, the Calgary native played for the Edge School Prep Program in the CSSHL.

“Chris is a solid defenceman that plays with pace, sees the ice very well, and makes a great first pass. He will be a welcome addition to our lineup.” said Head Coach and General Manager Adam Manah.  

“I am very excited to be coming to the Oil Barons. They are a great organization and I look forward to helping the team in anyway I can” said Kobelka.

The Oil Barons would like to welcome Chris to Fort McMurray.
