Mark your calendars Fort McMurray – an annual Christmas break tradition is back! The Oil Barons are proud to partner with MacDonald Island Park, CEDA International, and Total Athlete Development to present the Oil Barons 3-on-3 Hockey Challenge.
Beginning on December 28 with opening ceremonies, minor hockey players of all ages (Initiation – Midget) are invited to take in some 3-on-3 fun. Players are also invited to put their skills on full display in a separate skills challenge to see who is the fastest skater and who can snipe the corners of the net with a wrist shot from the high slot.
The Oil Barons 3-on-3 Hockey Challenge will also feature an autograph session with Oil Barons players, before wrapping up on December 30 with the presentation of medals and ribbons. All 3-on-3 games, including the opening cermemonies and skills challenge will take place at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park.
Registration for the Oil Barons 3-on-3 Hockey Challenge is now open and will remain open until December 20. Registration must be completed in person at guest services on the main floor of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park.
Registration is $60 for members of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and $70 for non-members, while goalies play for free. Rosters and schedules will be made available after registration has closed.
