Fort McMurray, Alta. (Sept. 8, 2015) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired 97-born defenceman Mitchell Torrens (Claresholm, Alta.) from the Drumheller Dragons for future considerations.
Torrens was a highly touted prospect that played two seasons at the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) in Penticton, B.C. In 113 games at OHA, Torrens registered 57 points and 270 penalty minutes.
“As an 18-year-old, Mitchell possesses a lot of speed and skill and those are assets that we want to build our hockey club around,” said Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “We’re excited to welcome him to our team.”
