MOB acquire Prevost from Canmore Eagles, trade Lyons

Fort McMurray, AB (January 10, 2018) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons bolstered their line up at the CJHL trade deadline on Wednesday, adding 1997-born forward and team captain Coy Prevost (Kimberley, BC) from the Canmore Eagles. In exchange, the MOB sent 1999-born forward Connor Lyons (Lethbridge, AB) and future considerations to the Eagles.

Prevost has spent the past three seasons with the Eagles and sits first in team scoring. In 38 games this season, Prevost has registered 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists) and 110 penalty minutes. Prevost also appeared in all 60 of the Eagles’ games last year, where he recorded 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) and 64 penalty minutes.

Lyons joined the MOB on October 6, after starting the season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. In 29 games with the MOB this season, Lyons recorded 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and 12 penalty minutes.

The Oil Barons would like to thank Connor for his contributions and wish him the best in the future.
