MOB acquire Argento from OCN Blizzard

Fort McMurray, AB (November 6, 2017) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have acquired 1998-born defenceman Domenico Argento (Montreal, QC) from the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) for future considerations.

Aregento, 19, spent time with the Terrebonne Cobras of the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL) last year registering 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 17 games. He also appeared in 15 playoff games with the Cobras, recording six assists on a Cobras team that captured a league championship and appearances in the Fred Page Cup and Royal Bank Cup.

Two seasons ago, Argento split time between the Sainte-Agathe Montagnards of the QJHL and the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In 19 games with the Montagnards, Argento registered 19 points (five goals, 14 assists).

“Dominco’s a solid two-way defencemean that will add some mobility and offence to our back end,” said Oil Barons Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “As a coaching staff, we think he’ll bring a lot of experience to our team.”
