The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are proud to announce defenceman Lucas Jones has committed to the University of Vermont to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the 2022-23 season.
Jones, originally from Calgary has spent the previous 3 seasons with the Oil Barons where he has accumulated 30 points over 115 games. The 6’4 blueliner also provided 6 assists in 11 playoff games this season while providing solid defensive play.
“I am very excited and humbled to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey and pursue my studies at the University of Vermont. I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, billets, teammates, and the entire Fort McMurray Oil Barons organization for helping achieve this honour. Thanks for giving me a shot at my dreams.” said Jones.
