Fort McMurray, AB — June 27, 2025 — The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are proud to announce the signing of forward TJ Terpsma for the upcoming 2025–26 Alberta Junior Hockey League season.
A 2008-born product of Beaumont, AB, Terpsma joins the Oil Barons following a strong season with the Leduc Oil Kings U18 AAA in the AEHL, where he recorded 43 points (12 goals, 31 assists) in 38 games. In addition to his success at the U18 AAA level, Terpsma also suited up for two games with the Oil Barons last season.
“TJ is an intelligent hockey player who has consistently produced offensively at every level of his career,” said Oil Barons Head Coach Sam Klassen. “He’s a strong, physically mature athlete who protects the puck effectively and plays with grit, never shying away from the tough areas of the ice. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Oil Barons family for the 2025–26 season.”
Terpsma is eager to officially join the Oil Barons.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity the Oil Barons have given me to play Junior A hockey,” said Terpsma. “I’m very excited to join the family and culture they have built, as well as playing in front of the best crowd in the AJHL!”
