Community invited to WCC opening ceremonies at Casman Centre

The entire Fort McMurray community is invited to join the best Junior A hockey teams in Western Canada on Saturday afternoon for the 2015 Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup Opening Ceremonies.

The ceremonies are free to attend, and will begin at 5:00 PM in the arena bowl of the Casman Centre.

The event will serve as the official kickoff for the third-ever Western Canada Cup, which will pit the Junior A champions of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba against the hometown Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

The ceremonies will take place between the first two games of the tournament; a 2:30 PM puck drop between the BC champion Penticton Vees and Alberta champion Spruce Grove Saints, and a 7:30 PM start for the Oil Barons’ WCC opener against the Manitoba champion Portage Terriers.

While no ticket is required for the 5:00 PM opening ceremonies, tickets for all WCC games remain on sale at the Casman Centre box office, by phone at 780 743 5509, or online at tickets.oilbarons.com.
