The Oil Barons evened their opening weekend record with a 4-2 victory over Drayton Valley last night at the Casman Center. In a very spirited affair the MOB jumped out to 2-1 lead after the first period and increased the lead to 4-2 after the second. The game featured 4 fights and numerous after the whistle conversations between the two teams.
Adam Durkee, Tyler Dea and Scott Pooley all scored their first AJHL goals and veteran Brett Printz also added a goal on the evening. Scoot Pooley scored his goal on a first period penalty shot and also added an assist on the night. Goalie Ethan Wood earned his frist AJHL win stopping 28 of 30 shots on the evening.
The Barons were out shot 30-26 and out chanced 13-9 by the Thunder. Harrison Hendrix led the Barons with 4 shots while Kyle Campbell and Brett Printz each had 2 scoring chances.
