The Barons had their 5 game win streak snapped in Grande Prairie Friday before bouncing back with an overtime win in Spruce Grove Saturday.
The Barons took an early lead in Grande Prairie as Jetlan Houcher (6th) scored in the first but Grande Prairie tied the game on the power play in the second. Tanner Jaillet shut the door the rest of the way as the Barons fell 2-1 in a shoot-out. Grande Praire lead in shots 36-23 and scoring chances 14-12.
The MOB also struck early in Spruce Grove as Erik Pedersen (5th) and Hayden Dawes (8th) gave the MOB a 2-0 lead after the second period. The Saints fought back to tie the game at 2 before Mike Marianchuk (9th) won the game in overtime. Ethan Wood got the win stopping 29 shots. The Saints had a 31-22 edge in shots and led in scoring chances 14-10.
